Our Doctors
Dr. Dwayne Fontenot, DDS
Dr. Fontenot, a native Texan, grew up in southwest Houston. After graduating from Westbury High School, he entered the University of Houston where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He graduated in 1999 from The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston with his Dental Degree. During his studies, he was recognized for Outstanding Undergraduate Achievement in the Field of Prosthodontics. He also earned the Aquasil Ultra’s Quest Reward in the Bridge Impression Category. He is currently an Invisalign provider and is continuing his education to obtain Fellowship status with the International Dental Implant Association.
Dr. Fontenot is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Greater Houston Dental Society, International Dental Implant Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr Fontenot met his wife, Kristen, at the University of Houston. Kristen is a Registered Dental Hygienist and is a staff member at Santa Fe Dental Associates. They enjoy working together and raising their two daughters, Elise and Audrey. The Fontenot family is learning to snow ski and enjoy traveling to National Parks. One of Dr. Fontenot’s passions is classic car restoration, especially his Pontiac Trans-Am. He also enjoys all varieties of fishing and his endless home improvement projects.
In the fall of 1999, Dr. Fontenot joined Dr. Bonno as an associate. They eventually formed a partnership in 2003 and the practice became Santa Fe Dental Associates. With Dr. Bonno's retirement in 2024, one of the previous associates, Dr. DonBosco Dan formed a partnership with Dr. Fontenot to continue Santa Fe Dental Assocates.
The Santa Fe Dental Office is an extension of Dr Fontenot’s family. He enjoys exchanging stories, sharing ideas and parental tips with his patients. But most of all, he strives to help his patients achieve the smiles they desire. Be True To Your Teeth or They’ll Be False To You!
Dr. DonBosco Dan, DDS
Dr. Dan was born and raised in southeast Houston. He graduated in the top 25% of his high school and was awarded First Place in Nationals of the Health Occupations Student of America Competition under Dental Assisting. This movement was the start to his career into the dental profession. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Health minor from the University of Houston. During his time in college, his devotion towards dentistry continue to grow becoming leaders of dental organizations that helped other students proceed into the same profession. He became a Registered Dental Assistant and volunteered at Texas Mission of Mercy events and at Healthcare for the Homeless Houston, where they provide free dental services for the community. He stayed in Houston and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Dentistry. As a dentist, his education will never end. He continues to strive to learn through numerous continuing education courses and through the wisdom of his colleagues in Santa Fe. In the Summer of 2019, Dr. Dan joined Dr. Bonno and Dr. Fontenot as an associate and then with the retirement of Dr. Bonno in 2024, Dr. Dan joined Dr. Fontenot to continue the Santa Fe Dental Associates partnership.
Dr. Dan is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association and the Greater Houston Dental Society. Through sharing the passion for helping the community, Dr. Dan met his wife, Dr. Kaylee Phan, at UH. They enjoy volunteering, attending church services, and being with the families. For leisure, Dr. Dan loves to cook, bake, and explore food from different cultures.
Dr. David Vindel, DDS
Dr. David Vindel Brower’s journey into dentistry is rooted in perseverance, passion, and a deep commitment to helping others. He was born and raised in Honduras and moved to the United States in 2013.
He began his academic journey at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, where he earned his undergraduate degree in 2020. That same year he started his journey in Dentistry at the University of Houston Dental School. Through dedication and hard work, Dr. Vindel graduated in July 2024.
Following graduation, Dr. Vindel relocated to the Texas City area with his wife, Dr. Katelyn Meaux, an OB/GYN physician whom he met during college. Together, they share a passion for healthcare and a commitment to serving their community.
Since September 2024, Dr. Vindel has been proudly caring for patients at Santa Fe Dental Associates.
Dr. Frank Bonno, DDS
Dr. Bonno retired from Santa Fe Dental Associates at the end of 2024. He still visits our office often, bringing the staff treats and visiting with his former patients and lifelong friends. He also continues to attend continuing education classes with us.

Casie has 21 years of experience at our practice, and the best thing about her job is definitely the patients, she says. Casie is from the one and only Santa Fe, TX, and she attended Santa Fe High School and then went on to study dental hygiene at the UT-dental. Outside of dentistry, Casie enjoys spending time with her husband and sons -- often watching them play baseball or just being together. Casie is also an avid runner. And before she took up dentistry, Casie declined an offer to be a Houston Texans cheerleader!
Kristen, Registered Dental Hygienist
Kristen has been at our practice going on 21 years, and she says the most rewarding aspect of dental hygiene is helping our patients achieve the ultimate in oral health. Originally from League City, TX, Kristen earned her degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. When she’s not at the office, Kristen enjoys traveling, watching movies, gardening, and sampling the many restaurants our area has to offer. In future vacations, Kristen looks forward to exploring more of the natural beauty on display in our country’s national parks.
